There are telecommunication shop, café, canteen etc. By having these facilities, either the teacher or the student will not get trouble to do their routines. That’s why, she would like express her message to the readers: Have a nice study here.
‘PROSPECT ‘appears again!!
In this edition, ‘PROSPECT’ really hopes that all of us are responsible to retain the continuity of prospect. Because, actually, the ‘PROSPECT’ attends to give the opportunity to us to develop our English. Hence, not only for the coordinator of English development but also for us as general, above all, for English teachers of SMK Negeri 1 Samarinda. Because, however, all English teacher are the pioneer of the existence of prospect itself.
That’s why; let’s make the PROSPECT as a source of our daily-teaching process. We can do it by sending our hand-writing to prospect; hand-writing here, can be; comment, suggestion, correction (constructively of course) or opinion, favorite English, song or poetry, etc. The main thing of this is; all hand writing should be related to education field.
Don’t be shy, and don’t be afraid about your English. Please say: we are studying now. Do it first! Because, we can learn from our mistakes. Don’t we know that no body is perfect?
Yoseph Payong Ado
There is a simple example of this situation. Inul wants to gain an ‘A’ for English subject. She studies really hard for this subject. She never lets the English book out of her sight. She pushes herself very hard, even beyond her capability. When she sits for the test, she is certain that she can do it well. When she receives test result. She find only a ‘C’. Soon, she feels very disappointed. What will she do after that? Will she regret her hard work? Will she promise not to touch that subject again?. There is no doubt that she will never master the subject. Other failures will surely come. On the contrary, if she decides to try to figure out the reason behind her failure, she will know what mistake he has made. She will find the factors which cause her failure. Only by doing so, she can do the next test more successfully.
The above sorry is just a simple example. There are a lot of other bitter failures in our lives. However, we should realize one thing when we face failures. Failure is not the end of everything. It can be the beginning of success.
After experiencing failure, we have to make a decision. It is certainly difficult to make one. Sometimes a wrong decision seems more right. Yet, making the right decisions is a must although it is sometimes very hard to do.
We can learn how to deal with failure from successful people. In our society, there are some successful industrialists who have experienced failures. It seems that they are always able to overcome their failures. What makes them really strong so that they never give up? In fact, the answer is just one simple word: FAITH.
Basically, everyone has faith in their hearts. With strong faith, everyone can do almost everything. Everyone might have their own opinions about faith. It is also true that faith is not the only factors that determine one’s success. However, at least, when we keep our faith, we have won the first battle against our disappointed and fear. As long as we have faith, no matter how hard life is, we will be able to face it bravely.
Having faith is, therefore, an important step to succeed. From the example given, if Inul has enough faith, she will decide to try to figure out the reasons for her failure.
From now on, it is better for us to keep faith deep in our hearts; we must also try to have more faith. By doing so, we will live in a better life (**)

TIPS
According to David J. Pynn, there are 13 ways to boost presentations:
1. Your enthusiasm and excitement is 90% + of your effectiveness
Where’s your belief level? Are you convinced? If not, your prospect will see right through you, no matter what you say!
2. As questions and really listen to the answer
3. Be positive about your opportunity, but believable (even if it’s true, don’t make outrageous claims that people will automatically suspect).
4. Vary your speech patterns, tones & voice inflection to make important points stand out.
5. Talk TO people... no AT them
6. If they look puzzled, they are. Stop, back up and clarify. Remember, if you confuse them-you will lose them.
7. Make aye contact as much as possible
8. Use third party stories as much as you can. Remember, if you say it directly, your prospect has a tendency to doubt you-if someone else says it, it’s almost always accepted as fact. It’s a variation of the cliché ‘Documentation beats conversation”.
9. Admit small flow in your program (like ‘My mom always said, Mr. Prospect, nothing is free in life. Everything comes at a price. If you’re unable or unwilling to devote 10 hours a week to this business then let me be straight isn’t always roses. If you only share the upside, your prospect will be searching for the catch. Give them a small one up front and you’ll create trust very quickly with them-which leads to rapport-which leads to them getting involved.
10. Mentally, be prepared to walk away at any time. They need you more than you need them. If you act desperate, it’s like a shark that smells blood. People don’t want to be talked into something. But, by the same token, they hate to miss out on anything or be left out. If you have this mindset, they will respect you and get the idea you’re doing them a favor by sitting down with them.
11. Never, never lie or even stretch the truth. Base your business on integrity-it’s one of the most powerful sponsoring and retaining principles.
12. Is your smile genuine, your handshake firm your tone warm, caring and friendly?.
13. Always dress appropriately when meeting a prospect. Remember, you have a legitimate business for them. If you are asking someone for a business commitment, then dress the part.

Becoming True Believer
The Definition of Happiness
Determine Your Values
Fuzzy or Clear?
Building Self-Condense and Self-Esteem?
Action Steps
According to Leo Burnett in his conversations with hundreds of top salespeople over the years, he has found that they all have one thing in common. They have taken the time to sit down and create a clear blueprint for the, selves and their future lives. Even if they started the process of goal setting and personal strategic planning with a little skepticism, every one of them has become a true believer.
BECOMING A TRUE BELIEVER
Every one of them has been amazed at the incredible power of goal setting and strategic planning. Every one of them has accomplished far more than they ever believed possible in selling and they describe their success to the deliberate process of thinking through every aspect of their work and their lives, and then developing a detailed, written road map to get them to where they wanted to go.
THE DEFINITION OF HAPPINESS
Happiness has been defined as, “The progressive achievement of a worthy ideal, or goal.”. When you are working progressively, step-by-step toward something that important to you, you generate within yourself a continuous feeling of success and achievement. You feel more positive and motivated. You feel more in control of your own life. You feel happier and more fulfilled. You feel like a winner, and you soon develop the psychological momentum that enables you to overcome obstacles and plough through adversity as you move toward achieving the goals that are most important to you.
DETERMINE YOUR VALUES
Personal strategic planning begins with your determining what it is you believe in and stand for-you values. Your values lie at the very core of everything you are as a human being. Your values are the unifying principles and core beliefs of your personality and your character. The virtues and qualities that you stand for are what constitute the person you have become from the beginning of your life to this moment. Your values, virtues and inner beliefs are the axle around which the wheel of your life turns. All improvement in your life begins with your clarifying your true values and then committing yourself to live consistent with them.
FUZZY OR CLEAR?
Successful people are successful because they are very clear about their values.
Unsuccessful people are fuzzy or unsure. Complete failures have no real values at all.
BUILDING SELF-CONFIDENCE AND SELF-ESTEEM
Values clarification is the beginning exercise in building self-confidence. Self esteem and personal character. When you take the time to think through your fundamental values, and then commit yourself to living your life consistent with them, you feel a surge of mental strength and well being. You feel stronger and more capable. You feel more centered in the universe and more competent of accomplishing the goals you set for yourself.
ACTION STEPS
Here are two things you can do immediately to put these ideas into action
First, decide for yourself what makes you truly happy and then organize your life around it. Write down your goals and make plans to achieve them.
Second, begin with your values by deciding what it is you stand for and believe in. Commit, yourself to live consistent with your inner most convictions-and you’ll never make another mistake (**).
OPINION
As social human beings, we need a place to live together with other people. Living together needs corporation and fulfillments of social responsibilities. However, sometimes instead of fulfillment them, we participate in destructive actions. Even, many of us do not realize that we actually support others destructive actions through our habits. In our culture we have a ‘silent’ habit. This culture makes us feel ashamed of expressing our feelings. As a result, we just let bad deeds happen again and again.
In fact, the silent habits are not the only factor which supports the destructive actions. Today’s development also plays a great role. It creates individualistic people so that they do not care about others. These factors make us far from fulfilling our social responsibilities.
The common cause for failing to do our social responsibilities in our unconsciousness. What we usually do is routinity which shows our weaknesses. However we still have to do our responsibilities in our social lives even though we are not perfect human beings. We have to know that what we do today actually should create a better world and a better life in the future.
Fulfilling social responsibilities is not easy. It needs a long process and practice. Yet, in fact, we can speed up the process. First, we should sharpen our consciousness in our daily lives. We all must have consciousness to fulfill our social responsibilities to make a better world for everybody. Secondly, we should try to eliminate the factors which support the destructive actions. For example, we ought to express what we have in our minds, break the ‘silent habit’ and tell the truth to the world (***)
SAY NO TO DRUGS
By: KHAN GHAZAN ZAKI
IIIC, SLTP Negeri 2 Samarinda
In this opportunity, at first I say thanks to god for the mercy so we can be here together. Today I’m going to explain some subjects related to the drugs. To express some subject that is necessary to be overcome the life of our ages.
It’s not supposed that hedonism life is only extravagant with money, it made some of teenagers loss their future. Some dead for the drug addicted or over dosage, and others who go to the jail for drug addicted.
Because lack of money to buy it so they do the crime action.
What are the factors that cause teenagers to be drug addict, narcotics addict, ecstasy addict, or teenager who addict to consume drugs?
It’s not supposed that there are many casual factors:
First, it’s affected by free life without a strong faith foundation.
Second, it’s also possible caused by family problem especially for broken home.
Third, the environment factor: we are mistake to choose a good friend.
In this time, it seems to imitate western culture with free style. The sample around us that is indicated, make persons with weak faith foundation or a weak religion is very easy to be effected by that culture.
A broken home, divoreed parent, lack of parent attention. Make their children to be wild (uncontrolled), frustrated, and a negative reference distribution are going to drugs.
Fuck friends, who invite to bad moral, will be effected into other friends. So fuck of friends, immoralist, drug addict should be avoided. There is no others word, we should take care of our selves.
First, we should obey to pray and leave the hedonism life that tends more consumptive.
Second, our family should be in peace and harmony and also love one anothers. If we have no family with the condition like that, please create peace, harmony and calm.
Third, it’s not necessary to have a fuck friends, it’s still many good friends around us.
I think, that’s all my explanation. Let’s create a better life and say no to drugs (*).

nce upon a time, when I was in the elementary school I saw many tourists come to my village. My friends and I approached them because they all are strange. Their skin is white, their body is big and tall, and they spoke with their own language which made us too hard to guess what the language was. When they asked something to us. We even ran away because we didn’t understood them all we supposed that, they spoke something bad to us. They looked very disappointed as there was no answer from us.
Since that time, I realized that, why I had to run away from tourists just only I couldn’t understand what they said. I asked to myself what language they used, finally, I knew the answer when I was in my junior high school; that, the tourist actually spoke English. It happened when I was in the first year student. My English teacher told us that “we had to speak English, least, to understand it because, every year the tourists always come to our village. By doing so, we can serve our tourists by giving the answer when they asked something to us”. Explained may English teacher. Hearing my English teacher’s explanation. I was very shy to myself because I couldn’t even speak English let a, one understand it.
Depart from this situation I promised to myself that willy-nilly, I had to master English either orally or written every time, when my English teacher taught us English, there was reason for not to pay attention very carefully. Moreover, when my English teacher explained the lesson in English I strive to imitate his pronunciation and also intonation, and I always speak alone to practice it in my spare time. But, it wasn’t going well. I was still afraid to my English teacher because he hit us angrily when we made a mistake in learning English, above all, when we didn’t do our home work. But I never gave up.
I tried and tried to joint the English class with care, and result is I got the highest mark of English when I was promoted in school, from the first grade to the second and also the third one.
When I was in the third year student, the mastering of English was not the main problem for me. At that time I could speak English to others eventhough it is only a little bi I could understand when others spoke English. So, I was really glad when my English teacher taught us in English.
After graduating my junior high school, I decided to continue my study at the senior high school or SMA (now SMU); and took the language as my department but, unfortunately, I had to enter the teacher training education because of the financial reason. But I kept on concentrating my English. Because of having the strong motivation before, that, however I had to increase my ability of English, in order not to run away again whenever I met the foreign tourist, so, when I finished my study at the teacher training school, I successfully, continued my study at the FKIP Unmul, and automatically, English is my mayor. From this, not only to understand when others spoke English but also could convey something in English. Now, because of having an experience that I ever ran away encourages me to practice my English continuously, and the result is, as you see nowadays.
